More About Fanny Lee's Irish Bar
Fanny Lees was bought in 2005 as a derelict building and consisted of 3 separate floors. Some construction work was subsequently undertaken to link the 3 floors together. The plans were then drawn up to design what is now Fanny Lees official Irish Bar, and one of the most talked about Irish Bars in the province of Almeria.
All of the materials, timber, artifacts, bric & brac etc had been sourced from all over Ireland, from old Irish Pubs (Dollymount House & Kavanaghs of Marino), shibins, guest houses, car boots sales and fairs.
Many visits to and from Spain were made over the following 18 months with meetings with architects and planners to put the final pieces of what would be the Fanny Lee's jigsaw project together.
All of the bar was built in a warehouse in County Louth Ireland and was finally shipped out to Mojacar Playa in February 2007. After many trials and tribulations Fanny Lee's Irish Bar was ready to open in May 2007 but with a change of local government Fanny's was not given the green light to open until 25th August 2007.
Since then Fanny Lee's has been home to thousands of Irish & British ex pats. We have catered for weddings, funerals, golf societies, birthday parties, school reunions and various other forms of celebrations – All experiencing a good irish welcome with ambience and craic.
